What you will learn with Israa Taha

Pattern Design and Drawing

This course teaches pattern drafting and sewing step by step, for anyone who wants to learn tailoring and make their own clothes. It starts with an introduction and the basic sewing tools, then shows the right way to take body measurements, both circumference measurements and length and width measurements. Next you learn about sewing fabric types and their uses so you can pick the right fabric for each piece. After that, the lessons move on to drafting the corset pattern in two parts, the easiest way to draft the arm pattern, the sleeve pattern in its different shapes, then the skirt pattern for the front and back, and finally the trousers and dress patterns in two parts. This course suits anyone who loves sewing and fashion design, whether you are a beginner or want to improve your skills. You need no previous experience, because the lessons begin with tools and measurements. By the end you will be able to take measurements and draft the corset, arm, sleeve, skirt, trousers and dress patterns, so you can sew your own clothes yourself. The course teaches through hands-on drawing, so you follow each pattern from the measurements to the final lines.
